Many of us experience back or neck pain, and most of the time it quickly goes away without need of treatment. If the pain lasts longer than several weeks, is accompanied by symptoms into the arms or legs, or develops at the same time as another systemic situation, it is a good idea to seek medical intervention.
What causes back and neck pain? The spine is an amazingly complex structure. It is comprised of 24 vertebrae connected by intervertebral discs and numerous ligaments. Together, these tissues work to move the spine in a controlled manner while protecting the spinal cord and its nerves. Pain in the back or neck can be experienced if there is an injury or irritation to any of the spine's structures. The pain may be due to a recent trauma, but it is most often the result of small traumas, repeated over time.
How can Impact Physical Therapy help? Our manual therapists will do a complete evaluation of your spine. This will consist of a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise ,and an ergonomic/biomechanical analysis of your life at work and at home. The goal will be to reduce your pain, stabilize your spine, and a home exercise program to assure long term benefits of a functional lifestyle.
"As a patient, the care I received at Impact PT has been excellent. The care is one on one with the physical therapist, not an aide. There was the short term recovery planning for my problem (sacroiliac joint inflammation and scoliosis) as well as long term planning to prevent recurrence. The PT's were all knowledgable, friendly, and extremely caring. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking also at this facility that is in a great location in Lynnwood with easy access from the freeway or 99.
As a physician, I have also referred numerous patients here with excellent results and never a complaint. There are PT's closer to my office but Nancy Mitrano and Impact PT are the PT's of choice for me and my practice."
